Tiko Council will be representing the South West region at the final of the 2023 edition of the Clean City Award.
The ceremony to take place on October 2nd, 2023 in Garoua, will be chaired by the Minister of Urban Development and Housing, Madam Celestine Ketcha. Tiko Council headed by the Dynamic and workaholic Shepherd, Mayor HRH Peter Ikome Mesoso III so far has been putting everything in place to win the Award.
Of recent a Delegation from Yaounde accompanied by the representatives of the South West Governor, Fako Senior Divisional officer, Regional Delegates of Urban Development and Housing, and Decentralization and Local Development South West and the Administration of Tiko, inspected various sites earmarked for the contest.
From the Tiko Main Market through the Government Nursery and Primary Schools Costain, the Tiko Motor Park, District Hospital to the Mutengene Public Toilets, the Delegation were satisfied with the work done so far as concerned Hygiene and Sanitation throughout Tiko municipality.
It should be noted that since the Clean Campaign 2023 was launched on July 5TH, 2023 by Mayor Mesoso III, over 200 youths and women were recruited for the exercise with five tricycles purchased by Tiko Council and over 75 thrash cans placed at strategic positions throughout the municipality.
Tiko Council won the Clean City Campiagn in the South West region ahead of Tombel Council from Kupe Muanenguba Division, Mamfe from Manyu, Kumba 1 from Meme, Ekondo Titi from Ndian and Menji Council from Lebialem Division.
