Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign in Mudeka by MACAF

Every October, the global Pink October campaign aims to increase awareness around breast cancer prevention. Makon Care Foundation led by its CEO, renowned Cameroonian artiste Makon in partnership with Mukoko Hope’s Foundation joined the movement by organizing a sensitization campaign in Mudeka, Tiko sub-division on Thursday, October.

This initiative was aimed at educating the local population about breast cancer prevention, early detection, and treatment.

A significant number of community members attended the campaign mostly made of women both young and old, benefiting from informative sessions with healthcare professionals.

The campaign emphasized the importance of early detection, healthy lifestyle choices, and regular screenings in preventing and managing breast cancer.

At the end of the campaign, farming tools were also shared by the foundation to farmers to lessen their burden of acquiring some of these tools.

Makon Care Foundation’s Mission:

As part of its broader mission to combat cancer in Cameroon, Makon Care Foundation has been conducting sensitization campaigns across the country. They have referred over 150 individuals to hospitals, and covered hospital bills for some patients. The foundation has now extended its campaign to the South West region. Makon Care Foundation remains committed to its mission of educating and empowering communities to take control of their health and well being.
