Weeks to the kick start of the 2024/2025 Academic year, Council of Elders of Bwenga, Mutengene 2nd Class Chiefdom in Tiko Sub-Division recently donated back to school materials to pupils and students within the Mutengene court area.
The ceremony that took place on Thursday August 22nd, 2024 at Esuke Camp Field, was chaired by the Assistant Divisional Officer for Tiko, Mr. Elvis Egbe representing the Divisional Officer.
The ceremony that saw over 650 pupils and students within the Mutengene court area received back to school materials was attended by the 1st and 4th Deputy Mayors of Tiko Council, Hon. Efite Andrew and Waindim Rudolf, Members of the Upper and Lower Houses of Parliament, Senator Lionel Fonderson and Hon. Stanley Findi, the Inspector of Basic Education and Social Affairs Tiko, Traditional and Religious authorities, Councilors of Tiko Council, and a cross section of denizens of the Mutengene 2nd class chiefdom.
The donation ceremony that was spiced with speeches from the initiator of the projects, Notable Paul Etoke, the Chief of Mutengene 2nd class chiefdom, HRH Aaron Ngeka, Tiko Council Deputy Mayors and the assistant Divisional Officer for Tiko, witnessed animation by dance groups.
It should be noted that the donation of back to school materials to pupils and students within the Mutengene court area was the first of its kind initiated by notable Paul Etoke in collaboration with the Council of Elders of Bwenga.
At the end of the colorful ceremony, the initiator of the project, Notable Paul Etoke announced that the donation exercise will take place every year.
