As the country drive towards emergency in 2035, Tiko Council, the gateway city under the stewardship of Mayor HRH Peter Ikome Mesoso III is not left out.
One of its main Market, the Mutengene market for the past one month has been a bee hive as construction works are ongoing to transformed it into a modern and daily market.
During a visit on Tuesday April 9, 2024, at the site, the chief Shepherd of Tiko municipality, Mayor Mesoso III accompanied by a member of the upper House of Parliament, Senator Lionel Papinatu Fonderson, the chiefs of Town planning, Municipal Police, Communication at Tiko Council, Market Master of the Mutengene market and some council Staff, mayor Mesoso III was very satisfied with the work done so far and called on the contractors to speed up work.
The construction works that are ongoing to last for three months at the fruits, tomatoes, fish and “Okrika” sections of the market will see the construction of close up stalls and Hangars.
Mayor Mesoso III also announced that, the Mutengene market will witness the installation of Standby Taps and construction of Toilets that will help to increase the Hygiene and sanitation situation of the market.
It should be noted that the Mutengene market which is a source of revenue for the Tiko Council, for the past has been crying for rehabilitation which Mayor HRH Peter Ikome Mesoso III is about to transformed into a modern market.
