Some 50 youths of the gateway city of Tiko on Tuesday July, 22nd, 2025 attended a training organized by the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing for the 2025 financial year, for the manufacturing of pavement bricks and laying techniques.

The session that started with theory at the Tiko Council Banquet hall, was attended by the Regional Delegate of Urban Development and Housing, South West, 4th Deputy Mayor Tiko Council, Waindim Rudolf representing the Mayor, Tiko Council Communal Development Officer, HRH Mbollo Ndedi Yves, the Chief of Town Planning Tiko Council, Engineer Esunge John amongst others.

The theoretical aspect was facilitated by Mr. Ayuk John who handed a handout to the participants which will go a long way to guide them on pavement manufacturing and laying techniques.

The practical aspect of the training will take place at the pavement manufacturing site in Likomba where the machines handed to Tiko Council by the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing have been installed from Wednesday July 23rd, 2025 by the Mayor of Tiko Council HRH Dr Peter Ikome Mesoso III.
It should be noted that just three councils in the South West region (Tiko, Mamfe and Kumba II) were selected for the exercise by the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing.
