Hygiene and Sanitation heads of some councils in Fako Division educated on Cholera.

Hygiene and sanitation heads from four councils in Fako Division, South West region have received lectures on cholera in a four days capacity building workshop that started last Tuesday February 28th,2023 in Buea.

The training which was theoretical and practical was organized by an NGO, IOM in collaboration with LUKMEF. The councils, Limbe 3, Limbe City, Idenau and the gateway city Tiko were represented by their Chiefs of Hygiene and Sanitation.

During the four days training that ended today with the theoretical aspect in Motombolombo a neighborhood in Tiko Municipality, the hygiene and sanitation chiefs were drill on messages about cholera which is a bacteria that leaves in human faeces.

They were also taught on how they can approach their various communities through sensitization messages on the effects of cholera which can lead to death, the behavior and lifestyles of the population and how to keep their environment clean.

It should be noted that the four days workshop saw the participants visiting Idenau and the gateway city council of Tiko where they gave out agua tablets free to the population.

Tiko council was represented by the Chief of Service for Hygiene and Sanitation, Mrs. Rachel Sacbar Manguk who was very satisfied with the training as it will go a long way to help his municipality from the spread of cholera.
