The inhabitants of Monde Village, Tiko Subdivision in the SWR of Cameroon recently staged a peaceful protest in Buea decrying and condemning the Illegal Exploitation of their forest by unscrupulous individuals.
According to the disgruntled villagers who tabled their complain to the Global Forum For The Defense of Human Rights in Buea,”this illegal activities is causing havoc and hardships to us”. Worst of it all, they don’t pay any loyalty to any of our Chiefdoms”. Said one of the villagers.
The president of the Global Forum for the Defense of Human Rights, Rev Doctor Oben Ernest who calmed down the villagers who come to table their complain in his office ,took them straight to the SW Regional Delegation of Forestry and Wildlife.
At the Regional Delegation of Forestry, they were told that they have not are aware of any Illegal act taking place in their village.
An official who spoke to the protestors beacon on them to put their worries in writing while assuring them that investigations will immediately be open to uncover the faces behind this Illegal act.
The denizens of Monde left the Regional Delegation of Forestry with smiles on their faces as they hoped that the administration will intervene immediately and put an end to this Illegal activities which is been supported by some influential figures in high places within the Southwest.
The president of the Global Forum for the Defense of Human Rights,Rev Doctor Oben while speaking to the press ,vowed that justice will be served to the people of Monde because Cameroon is a state of Law and the Law must be respected.
