New revelations have been made regarding the death of a Mobile Money transfer agent in Tiko subdivision, South West region.
Innocent Ibigbegmi was found brutally murdered on Monday night September 23, 2024. His lifeless body was discovered at a dump site near the bridge leading to the New Layout area.
According to authorities, Ibigbegmi, who was widely known as “Santos,” sustained three stab wounds: one to the chest and two to the back. The body was discovered at approximately 7:30 AM by a young boy who was disposing of a trash bag.
While the exact circumstances surrounding the murder remain unclear, investigators believe that Ibigbegmi may have also been strangled. His cell phone, which he used for his mobile money transactions, was found at the crime scene.
The victim’s sister reported that his bag, which contained an undisclosed amount of money, was missing. Security officials have questioned family and friends at the time of the report.
He was born in Cameroon to Nigerian parents and he has lived all his life working in Cameroon. His father is late, but his mother and other siblings live Kange fishing port in Tiko.
