SOWEDA and Tiko Council donate improved Maize Seeds to Farmers

The Sub-Director for Monitoring and Evaluation at the South West Development Authority, SOWEDA, Mme Halleson Rosine, and her team, in partnership with the Tiko Council, have donated improved maize planting seeds to farmers in Tiko Municipality on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025.

The initiative that aimed to boost Agricultural productivity, enhance food security, and improve farmers’ livelihoods witnessed the presence of the Sub Delegate of Agriculture and Rural Development Tiko, Mr Fombon Patrick representing Tiko Council and a cross section of Farming groups in the sub Division.

Mme Halleson Rosine from SOWEDA emphasized the importance of using quality seeds for better yields, while the Tiko Council reaffirmed its commitment to supporting local farmers.

This collaboration marks a step forward in strengthening agriculture in the region.
