SWRL 2023: The Samba Boys achieve their first round objective.

After a 1-0 in the last matchday against button side in their group Dream Soccer Academy, Tiko United FC traveled to Buea, where they faced ATESS FA at the Molyko Omnisport Stadium, on April 15th 2023 in Matchday 7 of the championship.

Tiko United FC almost had a lead at the 24th minute, through Nyah Clinton but he saw his effort go over the woodwork, an act which got fans on their feet to celebrate the goal that was never scored.

After series of missed chances in the first half, the second segment provided opportunities for both side but they failed to concretize. The deadlock will be broken at the 72nd minute of play when a cross from Nyah Clinton found the waiting head of Prince Iko Kemielayea to give the Samba Boys the lead.

One soon became two, when team Captain Ekene Livinus after a beautiful footwork in the ATESS penalty area beat goalkeeper Tah Glows to put the game beyond the reach of ATESS FA who have played five matches, won two and lost three with a game in hand against Best Stars Academy, who are taking part in the Easter Cup.

Tiko United FC maintains their winning streak as they had a 2-0 win against ATESS FA in front of their fans as they look to qualify for the Mini-Interpools.

The Samba Boys continue to dominate Pool B of the South West Regional League as they have now recorded 16 points with 7 goals in 6 games (5 wins and 1 draw).

After the match Coach Kengo Njangou Kwi of Tiko United FC, said “His ambitions was to top the group after the first phase, and how they take one match after the other to fulfill the objectives of the Club’s Executive.”
