Tiko Council picks ticket for Kigali Clean City conference 2024

Tiko Council has been selected as one of the few councils that will represent the country in the Kigali 2024 Conference for Clean Cities in Rwanda.

The announcement was made on October 2nd, 2023 at the Rhoumde Adjia stadium conference Hall in Garoua as part of celebration marking the 37th International Habitat Day in the country.

After Declaring Garoua 2 Council as the winner of the 2023 Clean city Award with Tiko Council ranked 4th, the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Mme. Celestine Ketcha made it clear that the councils selected for the Kigali 2024 conference will have an opportunity to learn how to manage the aspect of Hygiene and Sanitation in their various municipality.

She reiterated that the choice of Kigali in Rwanda is as a reference on the process of clean city in Africa which Cameroon is already into the process.

After announcing that Tiko Council has been selected for the Kigali 2024 Clean City Conference, the Shepherd of Tiko municipality, Mayor HRH Peter Ikome Mesoso III made it clear that it will be an eye opener for his people as the conference will go a long way to improve on the hygiene and sanitation situation of Tiko municipality.

It should be noted that Tiko Council won the Regional Clean City award for the South West region and fourth nationwide.
