In a significant step towards the digitalization of civil status records, the Tiko Council on Wednesday April 9th 2025 received essential equipment from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), accompanied by the National Civil Status Registration Office (BUNEC).
The received items, including printers, computers, and other necessary tools, will enhance the efficiency and modernization of civil status management at the council.
The handover ceremony took place in the presence of key officials, including the Regional Chief of BUNEC, South West, Mr. Ndzerem Walter, the 2nd and 4th Deputy Mayors of the Tiko Council, (Madam Elmina Ngomba and Mr Waindim Rudolf), the Secretary General of the Tiko Council, Mrs Eri Ita Tatason,and the Chief of Bureau Civil Status, Madam Anna Enanga.
The reception follows the recent installation of the Local Area Network (LAN) at the Tiko Council, with connectivity tests successfully conducted on Monday, April 7, 2025.
The implementation of this digital infrastructure marks a crucial milestone in improving the accessibility and security of civil status records, ensuring better service delivery for the community.
