Looking at Tiko, one can easily see and say that from time past, it has been a deserted land. The endorsement and enhancements of its socio-cultural activities and many others has seen a drastic turn for the worst, for reasons unknown.
The town has been abandoned and left unattended by government in its developmental drive. As a reminder, Tiko has the second largest Golf field in Africa making it a strategic asset for tourism.
Despite the lack of attention over the years, the town is gradually gaining its popularity through the efforts of prominent sons and daughters of the soil. At the top of that list is the Mayor, Chief Mesoso Peter. In just a few months in office as Mayor, he has done tremendous things to spur the growth of the town.
He is described to be a sent from heaven, exhibiting leadership qualities that resonate and contribute to the positive changes occurring in the town. Chief Mesoso Peter has put smiles on the faces of taxi drivers, bike riders and pedestrians in his execution of road projects that facilitates movement within the town.
Mr Ayuk John, in the capacity of project manager for the roads under construction, affirmed the Mayor’s good works in his community. The said road projects are expected to be completed within a year.
Thanks to the Mayor of Tiko Chief Mesoso Peter, the population of Tiko can attest that the town is gradually regaining its popularity and ranks in the Southwest region.
