Environmental Compenduim Association Leads Clean Up Campaign to Revitalize Mutengene Slaughterhouse

The air in Mutengene felt a little lighter this Wednesday, May 13th as the Environmental Compenduim Association headed by the President, Barrister Ndip Richman led a sanitation drive at the local slaughterhouse. Armed with brooms, shovels, and a passion for public health, volunteers descended upon the facility at Limbe-road, Mutengene to prove that a cleaner environment is the secret ingredient to a healthier community.

Restoring Hygiene to the Heart of the Market

The Mutengene slaughterhouse is a vital hub for the South West region’s meat supply, but heavy daily use often takes a toll on its sanitation. Recognizing the risk to both vendors and consumers, the Environmental Compenduim Association organized this targeted “Clean Up Campaign” to tackle waste management and drainage issues.

Teams worked tirelessly to clear blocked gutters and disinfect slaughtering floors, significantly reducing the risk of waterborne diseases.

Beyond just cleaning, the association also engaged with local butchers to discuss sustainable waste disposal methods, ensuring the facility stays pristine long after the volunteers leave.

The initiative saw an outpouring of support from local residents, highlighting a shared commitment to environmental stewardship in Mutengene.

A Greener Future for Fako

The Environmental Compendium Association continues to lead the charge in grassroots activism. By focusing on high-impact areas like the Mutengene slaughterhouse, they aren’t just cleaning up—they are setting a standard for food safety and environmental responsibility across the South West.

A clean slaughterhouse isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s about the health of every family that puts food on their table,” noted one volunteer.

Kudos to the Environmental Compenduim Association for turning “green talk” into “green action”!
