Tiko Council civil status registration secondary centre in Mudeka goes operational.

Tiko Council under the stewardship of Lord Mayor HRH Peter Ikome Mesoso III, inorder to ease the establishment of civil status documents in his municipality, has created a secondary centre in Mudeka.

The centre in Mudeka will go a long way to ease the establishment of Civil Status Registration documents to the people of the mongo zone and the creeks who faced it difficult to travel to the sub-divisional town of Tiko.

The news of the creation of the civil status registration secondary centre in Mudeka has been received with a lot of joy by the people of the area which to them is a true approach of citizenship participation by Tiko Council to its citizen and encouraged the Mayor to do more.

In line to that, a one day seminar took place on Wednesday April 19th, 2023 at the Tiko Council organised by the council in collaboration with GIZ and BUNEC on the role of Religious and Traditional Authorities in Civil Status Registration. The seminar brought together Quarter Heads, Traditional and Religious Authorities, Persons living with Disabilities and Civil Society Organisations

During the interactive session, the representative of the various communities in Tiko municipality explained their worries in the establishment of Civil Status Registration documents and were also happy with the creation of the secondary Civil Status Registration centre in Mudeka, and called on the council to do same with other court areas by decentralizing the process.

The seminar that was chaired by the chief of Administration and General Affairs at the Tiko Council, Mrs Achanga Bih Carolinda representing the Mayor, witnessed the presence of the South West Regional Chief of BUNEC, Mr Ndzerem Walters Yuyun and GIZ officials.

The seminar ended with some traditional authorities given declaration papers to go back to their communities to facilitate the process of Civil Status Registration.
