After organizing citizen consultation with One Tiko United for more investment in the gateway city in the state of Maryland, USA, Tiko Council Mayor HRH Peter Ikome Mesoso III recently met with authorities of Arlington Council, Texas for a “Sister City” proposal partnership.
Meeting at Arlington a city in Texas, USA, the shepherd of Tiko municipality had a session on Sister City proposal relationship between his Council and Arlington.
Mayor, HRH Peter Ikome Mesoso III had a meeting with the Mayor of Arlington Council Texas, Jim Ross ESQ; South West Ambassador of Cameroon in Arlington Texas, Kierra Quinn; Owner of partnership Foundation, David Baron; and City of Arlington Economic Director/Sister City liaison, Gus Garcia.
During the over three hours discussion, Mayor HRH Peter Ikome Mesoso III and the Officials at Arlington Texas, brainstormed on mutual benefits in Economic Development, Cultural Exchange, Education, Humanitarian activities and others for the Sister City relationship.
Mayor Mesoso III presented an overview of Tiko municipality which is the gateway city to the South West region of Cameroon. He also outlined some potentials of Tiko municipality through a presentation and some of the activities Tiko Council has been organizing such as winning the fourth spot nationwide in the 2023 clean city contest.
On the Development initiatives (Development needs), the Shepherd of Tiko municipality proposed to the authorities of Arlington Council Texas USA, some proposed projects of his city such as; Technology transfer in Agriculture, Renewable energy Solutions, Build Operate and Transfer(BOT) in infrastructural projects such as hotels and transportation facilities, Education and Health Care.
They also discussed on the Tiko Deep Seaport, Airport to be upgraded, through external fundings and partnerships.
At the end of the highly Diplomatic meeting, Tiko Council Mayor HRH Peter Ikome Mesoso III was decorated by the Mayor of Arlington Council in Texas City, USA.
