A workshop to trained Beneficiaries of Aquaculture Kits took place on Wednesday April 16, 2025 at the banquet hall of Tiko Council.
The session which is part of the Emergency Project to Combat Food Crisis in Cameroon, (Pulcca), in partnership with the South West Development Authority, SOWEDA brought together Fish farmers from Tiko, Limbe 3 and Muyuka sub Divisions in Fako Division, South West region of Cameroon.
Speaking during the training that brought together over 90 Fish farmers, the Sub Director of Livestock and Fisheries Production at SOWEDA, Dr Ebot Gregory Tambi called on the participants to use the knowledge gained during the exercise to increase Fish production in their community in particular and the country in general.
The training that focused on Fish production in other for the farmers to know the importance of Fish which acts as Food for the family and Commercial purpose, provide jobs, Source of Income, amongst others, was spiced with questions and answers from the participants and facilitators.
In the presence of the fourth Deputy Mayor of Tiko Council, Waindim Rudolf, Sub Delegates of livestock and Fisheries Production for Tiko and Muyuka sub Divisions, the famers were drilled on the Fish Cultures such as; Poly culture, Mono Culture and Monosex on Fish Farming using the Movable plastic tanks and Earthen Pond.
The farmers left the training satisfied as it was announced that in tbe days ahead some will be selected to receive Aquaculture Kits to improve Fish production free under the Emergency Project to Combat Food Crisis in Cameroon (Pulcca) in partnership with the South West Development Authority, SOWEDA.
