Tiko municipality to have a fishing port.

The Mayor of Tiko Council, HRH Chief Peter Ikome Mesoso III on 3rd of November 2022 was at the Prime Ministers office in Yaounde hall 217B, for a working session with the President of the Ad-hoc committee in charge of the maturation of the project to construct a fishing port in Tiko in collaboration with the Chambers of Agriculture, Fisheries, Livestock and Forestry (CAPEF).

The complex which will occupy a surface area of approximately 9 hectares will take into consideration the following;

– The civil engineering section which will constitute the construction of the road and drainage leading to the fishing port,

– An architectural section which will include; construction of the fish market, a restaurant section, a conference hall, an administrative block, water supply system through electrified boreholes, a cold room, public toilets and an area for shops.

It will also have a capacity building or training centre. The entire population of Tiko Municipality, our artisanal and mechanical fishermen are highlighted as the principal beneficiaries of this life changing project.

The feasibility study phase which is expected to last for 3 months, will continue with a proper visit to the site by committee members from Yaounde piloted by the Chief shepherd of Tiko Municipality HRH Chief Peter Ikome Mesoso lll. Stay tuned for more updates on the Tiko fishing port.
