In other to ease the transportation of goods, services and gravel from Ombe native to major neighbourhoods in Tiko municipality, Tiko Council under Mayor HRH Peter Ikome Mesoso III have embarked on the rehabilitation of major roads.
The stretch of road from Esuke camp in between the CDC palms and Bonganjo village through Quarter 20 (Tabatong), Bamukom and Ombe native is part of the Annual Investment Plan of the Tiko Council for the 2024 Financial year to the tune of 23,000,000 FCFA.
On an inspection visit on Tuesday April 16th, 2024, the Mayor of Tiko Council, HRH Peter Ikome Mesoso III accompanied by the 4th Deputy Mayor, Waindim Rudolf, Communal Development Officer, HRH Mbollo Ndedi Yves Patrice, Chiefs of Town Planning, Municipal Police, Communication Tiko Council, Contractor, Truck Drivers and Farmers, the Mayor called on the contractor to increased the speed of the work as the rains are approaching.
Mayor Mesoso III went further that this project is for the good of the population and has nothing to do with the Bonganjo saga and that this project is as a result of the cry of truck drivers on the huge sum of money they pay to Maxim to transport gravel to clients for construction of houses.
According to the Tiko Council Communal Development Officer, HRH Mbollo Ndedi Yves Patrice, the rehabilitation of the road will bring development to the neighbouring villages and added that the project is as a result of the Mayor’s effort through the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
A representative of the Tiko Truck Drivers who are one of the beneficiary of the road thanked Mayor Mesoso III and his team for the collaboration and listening to their cry and that they are happy with the council for the engagement of rehabilitating the road that will help them on their day to day activities after the heavy taxes imposed on them by maxim while plying the other stretch of road.
The contractor under Graceland firm, called on the users of the road to be patient that soon everything will be ok and thank the mayor and his team for always supporting them. He went further that he is there for Tiko Council project for development and not for Bonganjo village politics and called on the users of the road that he will work on time for the project to be realised.
It should be noted that the rehabilitation of the stretch of road from Esuke camp in between the CDC palms and Bonganjo village through Quarter 20, Tabatong, Bamukom and Ombe native to last for three months was as a result of the Budget orientation Debate that took place last year at the Tiko Council chambers.
